And my prior XDS currently shows better wireless reception, picking up five networks whereas the XS only sees two. Given my initial experiences with the new XS, this is unfortunate… as my wireless connection has dropped several times. Unfortunately, when it comes to connectivity, Roku has presumably made some cost cutting decisions resulting in the loss of component cable support, Ethernet (except the XS), and dual band wireless. All units also include a microSD slot, which is how Roku will help customers overcome their ongoing “channel” memory limitation. The Roku 2 HD ($60), XD ($80), and XS ($100) all feature a new “blazing fast GPU”, high definition video playback, 802.11n, and Bluetooth. And the Roku 2 line comes in three flavors… But, at the end of the day, while Roku’s outward appearance may help move units in Best Buy, it’s the technological capabilities that folks should be interested in. It doesn’t feel quite as solid as Apple TV, but it features a smaller footprint, more rounded corners, and clocks in slightly taller. The Roku 2 is quite compact and, in fact, will fit in the palm your hand. Roku 2 hardware is by far the most elegant they’ve ever produced… and how far its appearance has evolved from off-the-shelf components and generic look seen in the first generation Roku Netflix Player. Now decked out with tons of video and audio “ channels,” Roku’s fourth rev – the Roku 2 Streaming Player – has launched. Since then, Netflix streaming has landed on dozens of connected devices, while Roku, Inc abandoned all prior product lines to bet the farm on the economically priced Roku Streaming Player. In fact, the product was spun off from Netflix itself when Roku founder and CEO Anthony Wood returned home… with his Netflix project team and funding in tow. The original Roku media streamer launched back in the spring of 2008 as the “Netflix Player,” piping online video to the television.

You should be aware, however, that an acceptable result for the payable turnover ratio varies from industry to industry.īecause the turnover of payables is unique to each business type, you’ll gain the most valuable information for your investment analysis by comparing companies within the same industry.Īt the same time, when you track the payable turnover ratios of one or more firms over a specific period, you’ll get a much better sense of where each is headed in terms of its financial performance. This inspires a greater level of confidence on the part of both lender and investor. Not only is a higher ratio result a sign of financial strength, it also shows creditors that the business has an established track record of paying its bills in a timely manner. The higher the payables turnover ratio, the more adept a business is at paying its suppliers frequently and consistently. So what does the payables turnover ratio measure? Now let's find out how the payables turnover ratio is used to evaluate a company's efficiency. This information can be particularly useful when you’re analyzing ratio results over a period of time, because it lets you gauge any change in an organization’s payment habits.Ī slowing trend in supplier payments often serves as a warning signal that a firm’s financial health may be declining. If you discover that a business has a payable turnover ratio of 6, for example, it means the company you’re evaluating pays off its average supplier balance owing 6 times a year, or about every 60 days. So what does accounts payable turnover mean? This financial ratio allows you to compare a firm’s credit purchases against its average accounts payable (AP) amount, in order to determine how frequently it pays its suppliers. The accounts payable turnover ratio, which is also known as the creditors turnover ratio, provides you with just such an efficiency measurement. When you’re considering buying stock in a particular company, it can be helpful to know how efficient that company is at meeting its supplier debt obligations. Definition - What is Accounts Payable Turnover Ratio? As a result of that feedback, we made it a priority to introduce our first iteration of Team Ranked in Season Three. One thing we learned is we have a lot of players who like ranked in theory but would prefer to enjoy with others. In some cases, your responses validated some work we already had underway (such as the Map Preference System), and in other cases, your responses helped us change our priorities. Season Three: What's Still to ComeAt the start of Season One, we sent out a player survey asking a lot of questions about how our players felt about the update and requesting guidance on our next steps. With all this and more coming to Age of Empires IV very soon, it's the perfect time to join in on the fun! Age IV is featured in the Steam Summer Sale starting today, June 23rd, and also available with PC Game Pass or Ultimate. We'll have more to share in the coming weeks, including significant balance changes, new Seasonal Event rewards and our Season Two theme! Speaking of maps, we'll be introducing a brand new map in Season Two, called The Pit! This map has a competitive focus with a mostly open layout. When the Season Two update releases, we'll be sharing FAQs and other details further outlining how the system works! With this update, we are adding our first version of a Map Preference System that will give you influence over the maps that you will encounter in ladder play. For some time, we have heard community requests for a way to give players a say over the maps they play in Quick Play and Ranked multiplayer matches.Based on your feedback, we've continued to refine hotkeys to ensure you're able to customize and play as you wish. In Season Two, we'll be introducing the new Fully Remappable Hotkey layout, along with making changes to how hotkey conflicts work and reorganizing remapping menus so hotkeys are easier to find. With this new setting, players can choose a color or have a color randomly assigned at the start a match that will surface in-game and on the mini-map in single-player skirmish, multiplayer custom matches, quick matches and ranked matches. Introducing the Player Color Picker! You requested it, and it's almost here. Here's an overview of some of what you can expect: Those of you who participated in our recent Public Update Preview may have already had the chance to test some of these features out (and thanks for the feedback, by the way!). Season Two: Just on the HorizonWe shared a little bit about Season Two back in March, and we're here today to say that features like the Map Preference System, Fully Remappable Inputs, and Player Color Picker are on their way in July… along with a few other exciting changes! This isn't a great alternative, because playing an endless runner without any sort of beat in the background isn't all that fun.Imangia Studios' sequel, Temple Run 2, is a great example of what to do with a second entry into an arcade series. Unfortunately, you'll probably find yourself muting the music entirely to keep from being driven completely crazy. Especially for an endless runner, engaging music is important given that the objective is to stay alive for as long as possible. This lack of variety in the music is a bit disappointing given the variety present in the game's other aspects. The game's monotonous soundtrack certainly contributes to the feeling of an endurance test. After a time, you'll start to recognize the game's patterns, which removes any real sense of skill or urgency. You may want to keep playing to unlock new items, but the gameplay itself isn't really much to write home about.Īfter a while, playing becomes more of an endurance test than anything. There isn't really a skill curve, so once you get the hang of playing there's no real sense of challenge to keep the game itself engaging. Jumpy frames may lead to an unintended and frustrating game-over, or keep you from finishing a daily challenge if you miss a dodge due to a framerate issue.īeyond that, Subway Surfers isn't hugely difficult. Otherwise, this may be a minor gripe, but framerate issues in an endless runner can seriously detract from gameplay. Chief among these flaws is the game's framerate issues. Subway Surfers does have quite a lot going for it as a free downloadable app, but that surface style masks a few major flaws. You can get a crew together with your friends and compete for the highest score. As an added bonus, Snapchat users should check out a multiplayer Subway Surfers mode available via the app. In addition to the challenge modes, you can also take a looser approach and give the Arcade Mode a try. The challenges put the focus on endurance, so you'll want to keep on running. The game's rotating slate of daily challenges will also keep you coming back for more. You'll want to keep on going so you can unlock that next item or character. It's easy to play in short bursts if you've got a bit of time on your hands, but you might also find yourself getting lost in long binging sessions as you dodge the oncoming trains and ride the rails over and over. Easier controls mean you can stay alive longer, and thus, keep on playing.īoth of these factors contribute to how addicting this game is. Visuals aside, the simple controls also set the game apart, making for a much more intuitive experience. You'll take to the chase and escape from the law all in gorgeous HD graphics. There's always something new and engaging to look at, and you'll want to keep on playing just so you can keep taking in those eye-catching visuals seeing all the new characters and content that you can unlock. The cartoony HD graphics and bright environments are a huge draw, making it easy to lose yourself in the world of Subway Surfers. It's definitely safe to say that Subway Surfers' major strong point is the visual style. The real-money aspects of the game aren't at the forefront, and it avoids the pay-to-win feel that some other free-to-play apps fall into. Though paying up does make the game slightly easier, you won't be missing much if you'd rather save your cash. Though Subway Surfers is of course totally free, players that want to spend real-life currency can buy additional in-game cosmetics and power-ups. You'll also be able to unlock new characters like Tricky & Fresh, and there's an entire library of custom cosmetic content to select from. You'll gather coins as you run, which you can cash in on powerups like jetpacks or hoverboards that will get you farther and help dodge obstacles.Īnother unique style change is the ability to customize the power-ups as well, using unique skins like the Jive Outfit that can be unlocked during gameplay. This improved game-feel is aided by the game's slate of powerups. It's an ostensibly small difference but leads to a much better game-feel overall. The swipe-to-move mechanic is a welcome change from screen-tilting mechanics in competitors like Temple Run, giving you way more precision and control over your movements. Gameplay is pretty standard for an endless runner: Jake will keep running forward while you swipe left and right to dodge obstacles in your path. Playing as Jake, you'll need to use your swiping skills to make it through an endless gauntlet of subway rails and grind trains to escape the clutches of the law. A far cry from drab and lifeless, Subway Surfers introduces players to a vibrant, colorful world full of eye-catching environments and unique characters. A dog muzzle may be just what you need to help put an end to your furry friend’s shenanigans! And you’ve just about had it up to here with their bad behavior? They’ve also tried to bite during vet visits and grooming sessions. They occasionally act out towards other dogs at the park or on walks. You can check out the reviews of the muzzles in this post by clicking on the “Muzzle” filter on our Review page. So, your four-legged friend has been really rude to passersby lately. You can also check out the Muzzle Training and Tips website, browse our articles, where we discussed many muzzle-related topics. If you want to learn more about muzzles, you can join amazing groups on Facebook, like Muzzle Up, Pup!, or follow The Muzzle Up Project. Please do not use these muzzles for longer than a few minutes, and never leave them unattended with these on! Look up a more proper type of muzzle that allows panting if you need one for walks, and please reach out to a trainer if you need help with barking or chewing! The other main risk is if the dog gets sick (e.g., because of overheating or stressing with the muzzle on) and vomits, they can suffocate with the mouth closed. Dogs can quickly die if they overheat - especially since they wouldn’t be able to drink water either. First of all, as we discussed, dogs have to be able to pant to cool down, which is impossible if the mouth is closed. We did a quick search online, and found many sellers who recommend these muzzles to prevent barking or chewing on furniture! We understand that people are always eager to find a quick fix for a problem, but these issues require training, not tying the mouth closed.īesides not solving any behavior problem in the long run by putting a tight muzzle on the dog, this also puts a significant risk on the dog. Risks of leaving your dog alone with a textil muzzleĪfter posting about this topic on social media, we heard from many concerned trainers that people leave their dog alone at home for hours with these muzzles on. Either way, these muzzles are not recommended for most situations. If they can’t open their mouth, they will overheat. If they can open their mouth to take a treat, they can bite. The truth is that your dog can easily bite through this type of muzzle if it is not tight. When we point this out, many people say that they don’t tighten it so the dog can open their mouths and take treats, so it’s fine to use it for walks. Dogs not only overheat while exercising in extreme heat but also when they are stressed. Thus, these muzzles are NOT appropriate to use on a walk or for a more extended trip on hot public transportation. This also means that the dog can’t pant while it is on. In the situations mentioned above, you want to tighten the muzzle around the snout as much as you can without hurting the dog to prevent biting or nipping. Even the sweetest dog can bite when they are in pain, and it’s much easier to check them out or bandage an injury if you don’t have to deal with them snapping at you in the meantime. They are also great to bring with you for emergencies because they don’t take up any space in your backpack and come in handy if your dog gets injured. This style is fine to use for a few minutes long vet check, nail trim, or similar procedure where you are afraid your dog might nip. This type of muzzle is also called a grooming/ textil/ fabric/ nylon muzzle. The computer also isn't at fault, as I can install linux on it if I desired to. Just to clarify, the boot drive itself isn't the problem, I've used the same boot drive to install linux distros multiple times, and even uses it to install a windows virtual machine just to clarify it's working. The only other thing i've tried is using netbootin and rufus on a different computer instead of bootcamp to create a bootable device yet same error still occurs. I've already tried letting it sit for more than 3 hours to see if it was just finishing up but to no avail. Then a black screen appears and it just stays like that. So then I go on to windows 10/8.1, and the logo boots up, saying setting up devices and it finishes. Everything finishes and I get no errors in the installation. So I do everything, so on and so forth, with the steps being identical for both win 8 and win 10. So I get to the installer part and, hey! It actually works. After a while of troubleshooting I basically give up and move to the next methodĢ) Second Method: Installing Windows 10/ Windows 8.1Īlright, so I thought maybe giving widows 10/8.1 a try. It's a pretty common problem and I heard it could be because the pen drive is USB 3.0 or because it's not a DVD. So basic windows 7 installation, bootcamp assistant and the sort, everything works fine until: ""No bootable device found." I'd just like to mention that zero of these problems involve the disc drive apple sells, and are instead all using a boot driveġ) First Method: Regular Win7 installation I've tried two different methods yet neither have seem to bear fruit. Alright, so I have basically been trying to install windows on my 2012 mac book air. Communication and feedback loops are broken: You want your team to feel confident proactively sharing with others, but this requires a level of trust and openness that can be hard to achieve.People don’t know who’s working on, what’s being prioritized, and why decisions are being made, which can create mistrust across teams, misaligned priorities, and duplicative streams of work. When orgs don’t show that information-sharing is a priority (and make it easy for folks to do), it can have a lasting impact on transparency. But when different teams use different apps and tools for their workflow, and sharing isn’t prioritized as part of the org’s culture, it can feel like a heavy lift to bring folks into the fold. Information-sharing isn’t prioritized: For departments to work most effectively, teams need to work together - not as separate units. Here are some of the most common reasons silos happen in the workplace: As companies grow or organizations move to remote to hybrid work, teams have to work even harder to prevent silos from forming. Silos happen when teams or orgs don’t update their ways of working to support (and fuel) this new cross-functional nature of work. The modern workplace is networked, with cross-functional teams and nodes of collaboration. Silos aren’t just a communication problem, though communication can be a part of it. Had they been collaborating in the first place, they could have avoided the duplicative work and more effectively divided and conquered for the launch. Like two sub-teams finding out they’ve both been working on the same landing pages for an upcoming product launch, scrambling to get to the finish line, only to realize someone else is doing the same work too. There’s little effort made to collaborate or communicate, which leads to misaligned priorities, redundant or duplicative work, mistrust, power struggles, and a decrease in overall team effectiveness. Silos at work mean teams operate in relative isolation to one another. And instead of a farm, you’ve got a department or company. But instead of grain, you’ve got teammates. Silos in the workplace are pretty much the same thing. Grain in one silo doesn’t ever mix with grain in the other silos, even though it may be on the same farm. Let’s start by visualizing an actual silo - you know, those tall things that keep grain in (and everything else out) on a farm. You may be asking yourself: What’s a ‘silo’? In this article, we’ll go over how to know if silos are forming on your team and what you can do to prevent and solve for them. Another study from Queens University found that 39% of employees feel their teammates don’t collaborate enough. According to Salesforce, 86% of execs cite lack of collaboration or ineffective communication as a major cause of failure in business. Left unaddressed, silos in the workplace can have a lasting, negative impact on both the success of your business and overall employee engagement. And while that might sound obvious, it can be surprising how silos sneak up on you - you might not even notice they’re forming until the problem becomes too deeply ingrained. Simply put: your team shouldn’t be operating in a bubble. Without strong cross-team collaboration, work often gets duplicated, projects are slower to launch, teams compete for resources (instead of working together), and company-wide goals get missed because people simply aren’t working together to accomplish them. For organizations to operate effectively, teams need to talk. GlobalData predicts that the sector will continue to hold a higher share than had been predicted prior to the pandemic. As consumer behavior changes, we consume more food and drink at home, and inflation increases basket sizes.
